The China Agroforestry Programme or World Agroforestry Centre, China Programme, was established in August 2002. Currently, the Programme has a liaison office in Beijing, established in accordance with an agreement with the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), and a Centre for Mountain Ecosystem Studies (CMES), a joint centre of the World Agroforestry Centre and Kunming Institute of Botany(KIB), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
